Mirror mirror on the wall

We now have dancing mirrors.

We are very proud to announce that Happy Feet now have 6 wonderful, portable studio mirrors! Donated by Diane's mum Ivy, Mr Steve Rebbettes, our teachers and fundraising events.
They will make a huge difference to our classes as the mirrors provide our dancers with immediate visual feedback which is helpful in self-correction. It allows them to evaluate the height, shape, and line of their movement, and to adjust their placement.
The dancers see themselves in the mirror as the audience would see them. Dance mirrors also help with positioning and placement in formation when dancing in a group. Many dancers feel that the mirror is crucial for their success and serves as an important tool for technique training.
For teachers, the benefits of using mirrors as instructional tools also includes the opportunity to easily situate themselves to view many students at one time, although very little research has been conducted in this area.

As of Saturday 5th December, I am soooooooooo excited to share with you that our HIP HOP and Street Dance classes will be permanently based at Brighton Hill Community School, in Dance Studio 1!!!!!!!! This has been a long time coming.....but as we continue to expand, and with more and more children wishing to join us, it's time to move on to somewhere bigger and better. The studio has 2 mirrored walls, is bright and spacious, and is just over the road from our current venue, so it's conviniently located for everyone. Mirrors are hugely beneficial to dancers, and as our members continue to develop their technique and performance of Hip Hop and Street Dance, being in front of them each week will become second nature. After a very challenging year, this is the boost we all need, as we head towards Christmas and looking forward to 2021. We value all of your support during this time, and especially the children's commitment to their classes virtually every week. Now we have something very exciting to look forward to! 😊 Further details will be sent out shortly regarding drop off/collection procedures at the school. Mia x

On our return to class in September a selected number of pupils amalgamated to form our second “senior advanced jazz class” . In a short amount of time, under the instruction of our principal Diane, the new class have worked with so much energy and enthusiasm achieving a standard which reflects their class title and therefore “congratulations” are in order to the following pupils who have been awarded the “Jazz Dance Achievement Award 2020” Well done to Mia Graham , Ella Gray, Emma Graves, Charlotte Lay , Kirsty Lay, Ava Pearce, Hannah Roberts and Cora Pine. Keep up the good work!
After a very tough 2020 for Happy Feet Dance Academy we are pleased to announce that we have booked our show dates for the 10th & 11th of July 2020! As soon as we are out of this second lock down we will be back in our dance studio practicing all of the routines. We can't wait to be able to get together again in a safe environment. We have missed the feeling of being in the studio with you all and really getting stuck in to each routine. Stay safe. Diane.

It is with much sadness that due to the Corona Virus Happy Feet Dance Academy have postponed their summer shows on 18 th & 19 th July at QMC. The dates will be rescheduled at a time when it is safe for our dancers to perform together on stage and our audience feel safe. Please head over to our facebook page to watch the video I made for you. Diane
